Literacy - We began our new read aloud book, Maniac Magee. Students follow along, answering questions using reading group prompts in their Reading/Writing binders.
Math - We began doing daily multiplication drills to try help remember our math facts. We finished Unit 1 in Everyday Math and took a quick assessment on types of angles, conversions, and perimeter measurements. We played math games on Friday to practice array making skills and multiplication skills.. Writing - We began our newest Narrative writing piece with a focus on plot, setting, and characters. Science - We continued to discuss food chains and food webs, with a focus on producers, consumers, and decomposers. Students learned how energy is transferred from one living thing to another. Social Studies - We learned about regions of the United States and NH. We discussed what region NH is located in, and what physical and natural features are located in our state. We discussed renewable vs nonrenewable energy sources Microsociety - Venture facilitators met with CEO's to discuss what materials will be needed to begin their businesses. Students who completed Management 101 classes filled out job applications to interview for available managerial positions at open ventures. Interviews begin next week!
